New ATM posted: “Turning in Side-Sitting”

Finally! An ATM recording I was happy with. So, yes, I’ve posted a new ATM that was recorded on Sept 27th 2010. It is titled “Turning in Side-Sitting” and is a variation in the canon of ATM lessons. It is also colloquially known as the “Dead-Bird” lesson. There are many versions of this ATM from Moshe himself – many in AY and also in the SF evening series, among other places.

Please see ATM Recordings for the list of all ATM lesson.

For this lesson I made a quick summary for those that are interested (see below). Enjoy.

  • Check turning R/L to see how it is.
  • Side-sit with your knees to the right, left hand in front resting. Turn to the right with your eyes closed. How far can you go?
    1. Turn to the right a comfortable amount.

      1. Move your eyes left and to the middle; move your eyes right and to the middle; move your eyes back and forth from left to right.
      2. In the same position, move your head to the left; move your head to the right; move your head back and forth from left to right.
      3. In the same position, move your hand left; move your hand right; move your hand back and forth from left to right.
      4. Move your hand back and forth from left to right with your eyes open and looking straight ahead.
      5. Move your hand from left to right while moving your head in the opposite direction and keeping your eyes on your hand.
    2. Rest.
    3. Come back to sitting with your knees to the right, left hand resting in front. Turn to the right with your eyes closed and see how that is going.
  • Side-sit with your left hand on top of your head.
    • Tilt your right ear to your right shoulder – what happens in your pelvis?
    • Tilt your left ear to your left shoulder. Allow your left ishium to move.
    • Go left to right – let the movement resonate.
    • Rotate to the right, tilt your body left and right with resonating.
    • Rest.
    • Come back to sitting with your knees to the right, left hand resting in front. Turn to the right with your eyes closed and see how that is going.
  • Side-sit and turn comfortably to the right. Put both hands to the right.
    • Flex and extend (raise & lower the head) & feel your pelvis.
    • Come back to sitting with your knees to the right, left hand resting in front. Turn to the right with your eyes closed and see how that is going.
