The openATM.org discussion page is to foster discussion regarding ATMs – both those posted on this site and ATM lessons in general. I had been thinking about doing something like this for a long time. One problem with the mp3 ATM downloads is that aside from the often cryptic titles there was no way to really know what the ATM was about. Some folks contacted me requesting some sort of filing or organization of the ATMs and others just requested suggestions of ATMs to try. Creating some sort of structure is really the next step and this is my attempt at it, in part inspired by Lynette Reid’s kinesophics.ca site.
There are a few things that hopefully can come out of this experiment.
- Choosing an ATM to do based on a specific movement theme will be simpler
- ATM afficionados can share insights into how they experienced an ATM
- Eventually a library of notes can be built up on the various ATMs
